Privacy

How this website is built, and why there is nothing on it that tracks you.

Draft. This page describes how the website is built and is not a reviewed privacy notice. The data-controller details and the statutory wording are owed, and a legal review has not yet been commissioned.

  • No cookies

Nothing to sign into or remember, so nothing is set.

  • No server

Static pages with no route to internal systems.

  • No third parties

Unless you choose to play a speaker video.

  • Nothing to erase

    Nothing here identifies you.

There are no cookies

This website sets no cookies of any kind. There is no sign-in, no session, no shopping basket and no preference to remember, so there is nothing a cookie would be for.

That is why there is no cookie banner. A banner asking permission to set cookies that are never set would be theatre, and dismissing it would be the first thing this site asked of you.

There is no server here

These pages are static files served from a content delivery network. There is no application running behind them, no database they can reach, and no way for anything you do on this site to reach Harbor Light’s internal systems — those sit behind a separate authenticated boundary that this site has no route to.

Nothing you type stays here. The talk search filters a list that is already on the page, and the enquiry helper only fills in an email in your own mail program; both run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere. There is no newsletter sign-up, and the only way to reach Harbor Light is by email.

Third parties

No fonts, scripts, tag managers, chat widgets or advertising come from anywhere but this site’s own domain.

The one exception is a speaker video, and it is loaded only if you ask for it: the player is not present on the page until you press play, so YouTube is told nothing about your visit unless you choose to watch. When you do, the embed uses youtube-nocookie.com.

Your rights

Because this site collects nothing that identifies you, there is nothing here to access, correct or erase. If you have written to Harbor Light by email, that correspondence is held separately and is covered by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance; write to the address below to ask about it.
